Applications: capacitors, DC circuits

Magnetism: magnetic field, Ampere’s law, Biot-Savart law, Lorentz force, induction

Applications: motors, LR circuits, AC circuits

Maxwell’s equations

EM radiation: 1D wave equation, EM wave equation, plane wave solutions, energy flux, solar radiation, radiation from an accelerated charge



Lectures M W F 9:00 AM

Problem session Th 4:00 - 5:00 PM (optional)

Laboratory, 7 exercises, self scheduled

Laboratory (15%)
