Instrumentation: Telescope design, optics and image formation, CCD detectors, observing techniques, spectroscopic design, error analysis
Software: UNIX, IRAF data reduction, introduction to IDL
Observing: Naked-eye, spectroscopic, and imaging projects with the campus telescopes
Lectures: Tu 7:00 - 8:00 PM
Observatory sessions, self scheduled as weather permits
Lab reports (20% each for two)
